The MC of chess, Magnus Carlsen wins again, becoming FIDE Blitz World Champion in 2017

Despite failing to alert the arbiter when his opponent made an illegal move in game 1. Magnus Carlsen won through once more to claim the FIDE, World Blitz Chess Championship of 2017. Doing the double of holding both the FIDE Classic World Championship and Blitz World Championship crowns. Only failing the triple crown thanks to Anand's victory in the rapid championship. He defends the Classic World Championship in November of 2018, in London. The Blitz Championship was won after a dominant 2nd days play. The trophy goes alongside his winning of the Grand Chess Tour.

Viswanathan Anand, Vladimir Fedoseev and Ian Nepomniachtchi. Due to tiebreak rules, Anand and Fedoseev as the top two on the tiebreak rules had to play a tiebreak using a time of 3 minutes and 2 seconds to decide the winner.
