The crowning of the Tiger of Madras once more.

Viswnathan Anand who first won the FIDE World Chess Rapid chess championship in 2003 wins the title once again in 2017.

After the final days play, 3 players finished with the same points. Viswanathan Anand, Vladimir Fedoseev and Ian Nepomniachtchi. Due to tiebreak rules, Anand and Fedoseev as the top two on the tiebreak rules had to play a tiebreak using a time of 3 minutes and 2 seconds to decide the winner. Ian Nepomniachtchi won the bronze medal for coming third.

Anand secured victory by winning both blitz games.
