Giving thanks
Giving thanks is hard for some and easy for many.
To those that have the least it is easy but burdensome.
To those that have a lot it is harder but not as burdensome
To those that have authority and have the potential to change or transform lives
We pray that you do so and know that you will be rewarded for it.
To those that rejoice in the suffering of others.
We condemn you and ask that you repent and seek forgiveness.
Remove the obstacles between those that lift us up.
Lighten the burdens from our minds.
Caring for your neighbour is easier for some.
Notable absent from others
When we work we give ourselves to work
We express our thanks and gratefulness as though there is nothing that can be done
To share this world we expect a lot
Do we express our thanks with open arms or arms crossed?
The joy of giving can be a joy or it can be a challenge.
What is said in haste can be misunderstood
The joy of giving should be rewarded
One thing we are not short of is critics
Or those who suffer
So do not add to the suffering.
But give thanks.
With love, hope and humility.
To shine lights in the depths
To raise the heads of the loneliest
To allow creativity to flourish.
Creativity for those that don't know
Is that most tenderists of pursuits
Just as a gardener tenders the most wonderful and exotic of fruits.
So must creativity be sheltered to grow.
For their harvest will be great.
