Live and kicking as I type this
Along with major tournaments around the world. A tournament marking the 150th anniversary of Dundee Chess Club is being played. Where alongside chess commentator and author Simon Williams. Is Katevan Arakhaim-Grant who is currently climbing the charts with Scottish Chess at the moment. Also competing is fellow chess olympiad team mates Colin MacNab and Andrew Greet and Sweden's Pia Cramling.
Alongside this is the Scottish Championship also being held this year in Dundee.
Murad Abdul currently as I type. Is currently the top Scottish player in the 9 round Swiss tournament. His win in round 3 makes him top Scot in the Scottish championship as it currently stands.

Just to explain. I believe, and reading the rules on the website it kind of confirms. That the title of Scottish Chess Champion goes to the top Scottish player at the end of the tournament. Though international competitors are aloud to compete if they join Chess Scotland.
